This week, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival programme was released, and the eager music fans amongst you may have already spotted the glorious line-up of musical wonderment we have selected for you this year… but for those of you who haven’t managed to get a hold of the brochure yet, here’s the low down! Breathtaking songwriting and honey-like vocals from the wonderfully talented Edwina Hayes; dazzling eclecticism from the multi-talented and critically acclaimed Fence signing, Player Piano, showcasing tracks from his forthcoming album; and infectious acoustic hip-hop from the superb international six-piece, Stanley Odd.
One of the most beautiful voices you’ll ever hear, and an awe-inspiring display of the songwriter’s craft from Emily Scott; mesmeric kalimba, intelligent musicianship and captivating vocals from the utterly unique Jo Mango; and a foot-tapping, spirit lifting, celebration of music itself from crazy tricksters, The Banana Sessions.
Effortless musicianship and songwriting that mixes darkness and light from the ludicrously talented Alex Cornish; a barnstorming set from Edinburgh’s favourite supergroup, The Elements; and a fitting finale to the festival from the majestic Meursault - hotly tipped to be the next biggest thing, they will lift you to your feet and take your breath away.
