Acoustic Edinburgh Special (Ladies Night!) – this Tuesday – Tracey Braithwaite headline

2007 March 5
by Si

Featuring: Tracey Braithwaite, Dana Wylie, Emily Scott, and your guest co-hosts Shona Brodie & Donna Macioca (also appearing as Dj Donna!)
From: 8.30, free entry

One Tuesday evening late last year our good friend Shona Brodie was chatting to us at the bar in Medina. “What a shame it is you never get to have a break once in a while to relax and actually be part of the Acoustic Edinburgh audience”, said she. Paul and I immediately took this as an offer of more than just a helping hand… and this month’s “Ladies Night” special was born!

So, for one night only, SHONA BRODIE (of Dead Beat Club fame) and DONNA MACIOCA (of Amplifico fame) present an amazing evening of female-led musical wonderment. The headline this month is appropriately enough one of the finest voices in Scotland at the moment, TRACEY BRAITHWAITE, who will be joined by her band of familiar faces. Tracey is an extraordinary vocal talent, who has recently toured with other Acoustic Edinburgh favourites such as Horse and KT Tunstall. If you’ve not heard her gorgeous soulful voice before, then you definitely don’t want to miss this chance!

As ever, the headline act is only part of the story. We’ve also got a welcome return to Medina for the extraordinary EMILY SCOTT, and a stop-off on tour from DANA WYLIE (and the harmonica-wielding Jeremy). And in their roles as Paul and Si for the evening respectively, we’ll also have sets from the wonderful SHONA BRODIE and DONNA MACIOCA.

So, come along this week and join me – I’ll be the one sitting on the big bean bag at the front with a gin and tonic…

P.S. How much talent can you fit in one building? Find out this April 1st as we head down to the Queen’s Hall for Spectrum 4. You’d be a fool to miss it. (Did you see what I did there?)
